Description
There is currently a known issue that, on some systems, booting into the Drive Erase environment will result in the system hanging at the Drive Erase splash screen forcing a user to restart the system.
Impact
The issue affects system with configurations similar to the following:
• Intel Bay Trail CPUs or similar
• 2GB or less installed system memory
• Integrated GPU with shared video memory
• No discrete GPU
This is due to memory resource exhaustion preventing the Drive Erase environment to be fully loaded into RAM.
Recommendation
Unfortunately there is currently no recommended solution to resolve this issue unless installing additional RAM is an option on the system. However, we are working on implementing a solution in a future release.
