PC-Doctor, Inc. Expands Asia-Pacific Operations
Newly Appointed Regional Leaders Spearhead Local Efforts to Align With Diagnostic Needs of PC Manufacturers and Other Customers

RENO, NV (Feb. 1, 2005) PC-Doctor Inc., (www.pc-doctor.com), the leading global developer of hardware diagnostic and system information tools, today announced an expansion of its Asia-Pacific operations to align more closely with the needs of PC manufacturers and other customers in Japan, Taiwan, China and other countries in the region.

Although we have served the needs of the Asia-Pacific region for many years, we can more quickly and easily respond to the expanding requirements of our current and future customers through a physical local presence, said Aki Korhonen, president of PC-Doctor. The thorough diagnostic capabilities of PC-Doctor products will become increasingly important as new generations of PC-based consumer electronics from the region hit the market and drive growth for the overall industry.

As part of the expansion, the company appointed Takeshi Takeuchi to manage operations of PC-Doctor Japan K.K., the companys new Japanese subsidiary, and direct local efforts to serve existing customers and attract new ones. Todays announcement follows the appointment late last year of Jerry Chiu who has parallel responsibilities for the new PC-Doctor International, Inc. office in Taipei.

In addition to having a new physical presence in the region, PC-Doctor is creating localized versions of its software and supporting materials in Japanese and Chinese.

Both Takeuchi and Chiu are experienced sales and marketing executives in their respective countries. Before joining PC-Doctor, Takeuchi was a senior product marketing executive for HP Japan. He also has held sales engineering and marketing management positions for Mitac and Artisoft in Japan. Additionally, he has entrepreneurial experience as owner of his own sales representative company. Chiu has more than 10 years of sales management experience with companies such as Silverstream, Novell, and Ulead Systems.

Companies in the Asia-Pacific region account for the manufacture of more than 70 percent of the worlds PCs, and an even higher percentage of PC components. PC-Doctors software is used by many companies including IBM Japan, HP, Fujitsu Asia, HCL Computing, USl, Quanta and Inventec -- to reduce warranty costs and out-of-box failures. Studies have demonstrated that use of PC-Doctor diagnostics typically reduces no trouble found and related warranty costs by an average of 50 percent.

The significant cost savings is particularly important in an industry where effective management of margins is essential to business success, said Chiu. In addition to contributing to the bottom line, the thoroughness of PC-Doctor diagnostics can lead to enhanced brand reputations.

Many in the industry believe that the market is ripe for a new round of growth as the concept of Media Center PCs take hold. Media Center PCs are expected to gain favor rapidly among consumers who want to store, share and enjoy photographs, music, home video and recorded TV as well as perform traditional computing tasksall in one sleek and easy-to-use place. Industry analysts forecast that nearly 20 percent of all U.S. households will own a Media Center PC by 2008 and that 40 percent of all home PCs sold that same year will be Media Center PCs.

As the regional home to many of the worlds biggest consumer-electronics brands, Asia represents a huge opportunity for PC-Doctor, said Takeuchi. Our current and potential customers all recognize that the requirement for thorough diagnostics is even higher in the digital living room than in the office.
