PC-Doctor Ships 200 Millionth License
Global Leader in System Health Ready to Support OEM Diagnostic Needs
RENO, Nev. (Sept. 29, 2009) – PC-Doctor passed a major milestone in its 16-year history late last week, shipping its 200 millionth diagnostic license.
Designed to speed up help desk calls and prevent unnecessary service delivery costs, PC-Doctor system health software is pre-installed on desktops, notebooks and servers made by HP, Lenovo, IBM, Fujitsu and other leading manufacturers. The company's software is also used in factories to test new and refurbished equipment, in high-volume repair depots that fix hundreds of systems a day, and by neighborhood service technicians doing business in cities and towns around the world.
"We often talk about being a small company with a global footprint, because our software is used by the world's largest PC companies around the world," said Doug van Aman, PC-Doctor's chief marketing officer. "Not a lot of companies our size have accomplished such a milestone."
Having so many licenses in the field is a boon to the technicians who use PC-Doctor Service Center. "We get thousands of page views every week, many from PC users looking for help in fixing their computer," said van Aman. "Through the free database available on our home page, we refer those users to local technicians who use Service Center. It's open to any repair technician who uses Service Center."
The company estimates that the 200 millionth license shipped about 3 a.m. last Thursday. PC-Doctor began tracking the number of licenses nearly two years ago, calculating the starting point from private records and market data.
